SOPREM® (Sleep preserved from electromagnetic radiation)

The first label to guarantee an extremely low exposure threshold to electromagnetic waves when sleeping

WHY THE NEED FOR A LABEL TO PROTECT FROM WAVES WHEN SLEEPING ?

// Sensitivity to electromagnetic waves is greater during sleeping or resting time than when active. This is the reason for which the SOPREM® label has been developed not only for accommodation when travelling (hotels, gîtes, guest houses) but also for the home in order to enable restorative sleep to preserve long-term good health. The limit threshold exposures to artificial electromagnetic waves are taken from the German Biology Standards in Building(SBM 2015), one of the strictest global standards.

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS NEEDED TO OBTAIN THE SOPREM® LABEL ?

Wireless technologies permanently emittinghigh frequency electromagnetic waves are totally prohibited (no WiFi from the internet BOX at night, no DECT telephones in the establishment).

  • The host establishment guarantees a WiFi connection through a wired cable network. There exists a very easy solution to set this up.

  • In the bedroom, when a source of radiation penetrates from the exterior (mobile phone masts, FM radio transmitters etc.), shielding solutions can be used (anti-wave paints, curtains made with shielded materials, anti-wave wallpaper…). This guarantees exposure levels below the thresholds recommended by the label.

  • A 9-point measure enables the verification of the exposure level during sleep over the whole surface of the bed. The intensity of low frequency (50 Hz) radiation coming from domestic electrical installations (wires and cables in proximity to the bedhead) as well as plugged-in electrical apparatus have to respect the maximum levels advocated by SOPREM®.

In cases where these levels are too high, simple corrective methods are proposed.

  • In the presence of a PLC Smart meter, a filter must be installed in order to significantly reduce the PLC emissions. For that we advise anti-smartmeter filters which are both effective and inexpensive.
